This case has to do with a claim made by Park County Welfare Department for reimbursement of welfare funds out of the estate of Carrie B.S. Hurlbut, deceased. Although the claim was for $7,314.58, the inventory and appraisement in the estate showed assets of only $3,203.51. Also, claims for funeral expenses, the costs of probate, and expenses connected with the last illness of deceased are by statute preferred over any claim on the part of the welfare department.
